Multiple passengers and crew were hurt following a Delta Airlines jet originating in LA to Sydney, Australia experienced rough air on Friday morning.

Delta Flight 41 "encountered brief turbulence" as it landed at Sydney Airport, a company official informed. Several cabin crew members required medical attention.

The New South Wales Ambulance Service stated they evaluated five patients, and transported a trio to a medical facility with non-life-threatening injuries that included pain in the back and head pain. The patients' ages spanned from their 30s to 70s.

The event represents the most recent case of planes being hit by severe turbulence, with researchers indicating that shifting climate patterns is a key driver.

On board were 245 passengers and a crew of 15 on the aircraft, the official noted, stating that the plane touched down "safely and normally" at the airport at 06:48 local time on Friday.

Paramedics reported they received a call just a mere three minutes prior to the plane touched down, and response teams were waiting on the tarmac.
